Mark Mc McCausland On His Journey to the Big Screen, Performance of the Hand Pan, and Gareth Austin Talks Japanese Anemone

A performance of the unusual instrument the Hand Pan from local artist Michael 脫'Dalaigh and songwriter Mark McCausland talks about his exciting new project on the big screen.

Singer-songwriter Mark McCausland is an artist with his fingers in many creative pies. Not only does he tell us all behind the writing of his upcoming album, Notes From the Boneyard, but he also lets us in on his next road to success. Under his moniker 'McKowski', one of Mark's short stories is currently being made into a film starring none other than the sons of Liam Neeson and Steven Spielberg! No big deal.

Michael 脫' Dalaigh also joins us in studio for a meditative live performance of a most unusual drum called the 'Hand Pan'. Alongside officially releasing an EP of original songs, Michael also chats about the long tour of the country he is about to embark on in his newly acquired Camper Van, where he is busking along the way to keep him going.

Across the city this week, many landmarks, historical buildings and hidden gems have opened their doors for free, as part of NI's contribution to the European Heritage Days. Ronan McConnell from the Tower Museum joins us in studio ahead of events to let us know what's not to miss.

Of course, we couldn't finish the week without checking in with our gardener Gareth Austin. Gareth builds excitement with another glorious week in the garden where a plant with a pinch of pink and purple is looking great ahead of the autumnal flowering season.
