It was a double tragedy that not only rocked the close knit Kerala community in Derry, but indeed the entire city. 16 year olds Reuven Simon and Joseph Sebastian drowned after getting into difficulty while swimming in Enagh Lough in August 2022. Thomas Robin George is the President of the Kerala Association. He remembers the young men and discusses the ties the Kerala community have locally.
A pop-up festival celebrating the magic of spending time in, on and by the sea is currently running called The Swell festival. Champion surfer & Olympic contender Gearoid McDaid and musician and TIDES Surf magazine editor Ryan Vail on the film they have made about Irish surf boards.
Derry teenage rock band TeleZura are in session. They are 20 year old singer Jack Doherty, 18 year old guitarist Adam Robinson, 19 year old Ben McDermott on bass and 19 year old Aedan O鈥橠oherty on drums. We played their debut single "Heartfelt Summer" on the show a few weeks back, and immediately offered them a session.
