'He was a great band man. A gentleman.'

Sean pays tribute to Johnny Quigley and plays a unique recording of his band, the All Stars.

"I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Johnny Quigley," says Kilnappy Cowboy.

"Yes, a great band man," Sean says.

"He used to have an hotel at Foyle Street," says Kilnappy, "and my mates and I used to go in there. They were brilliant people."

"Johnny indeed was a very good friend of mine," Sean says. "I got to know Johnny many years ago. A gentleman. We were all saddened to hear of his passing. I unfortunately never had the pleasure of dancing to Johnny Quigley's showband, the Johnny Quigley All Stars. I remember seeing his coach around the town, yellow and white with the name on the side. But I have here a recording of a rehearsal of the guys in the band. Someone had a little tape recorder and recorded them in 1961, so it's not studio quality. In the band are: on saxophones, Johnny Quigley, Mickey Quigley and Edmund Quigley; on trumpets, Roy Addinell and Joe Quigley; trombone, Denis Fisher; guitar, Bobby Forsyth, bass, Jackie Flavelle; drums, Tommy McMenamin, and vocals, Mick McWilliams. And this is a song called Blue Heaven."

Also with music from Sailor, Dave Edmunds, Matt Munroe, and more.
