In the forests of western Madagascar, a tiny chameleon emerges from the nest. It is the beginning of one of the strangest of all journeys. Her urge is to climb and reach the high branches where she can hide amongst the leaves. She鈥檚 hungry and armed with one of the fastest tongues on earth, and her single aim right now is to eat and grow. In just a short period of time, she must be big enough to mate.

In the highlands of Scotland, a female black vole has been preparing her riverside home to raise a family. She smells the scent of an American mink and flees in panic. Now she must find a new home and a mate. She travels through grassland and heather, along streams and over rocks. She has never travelled this far before.
