Cerys welcomes 'Queen of the qanun' Maya Youssef to perform live at 主播大秀 Maida Vale. Maya gives Cerys a demo of the qanun, a 78-stringed Middle Eastern plucked zither. Maya was captivated by the sound of the qanun when she was nine years old on her way to a violin lesson in her hometown of Damascus, Syria. Now based in the UK, Maya says playing the qanun, an instrument traditionally only played by men, is hope-affirming - exploring the emotional and healing qualities of music.

Indian chef Romy Gill pops by with treats to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. A regular contributor to Radio 4's Food Programme, 主播大秀 Good Food and Ready Steady Cook, Romy published her debut cookbook Zaika, featuring vegan recipes from India, in 2019. Romy released her second recipe book On The Himalayan Trail last year and is currently working on her third, due out next year.

Expect the usual eclectic selection of music featuring Cerys' new favourite discoveries, classic tracks and hidden gems.
