Just off the west coast of Scotland, on the rugged Isle of Mull, the Tobermory lifeboat crew have to battle huge waves to save a 40-foot fishing boat that has lost all power.

We rely on our lifeboat crews 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year - they risk their lives saving ours, even in the most challenging conditions.

In St Davids, on the Pembrokeshire coast, the crew are called out to reports of an injured fisherman onboard a Belgian trawler. In a force 9 gale and treacherous seas, they have to come up with a plan to medevac the casualty for urgent treatment.

In New Brighton, just across the Mersey from Liverpool, reports of a capsized jet ski in the fading light become more urgent when, after the jet skier is identified on shore, her partner - who was being towed on an inflatable - remains unaccounted for.

Off the west coast of Scotland, the rugged Isle of Mull is home to the lifeboat station of Tobermory, where the crew have to battle huge waves to save a 40-foot fishing boat that has lost all power. And in Dun Laoghaire, seven miles south of Dublin, a local watersports instructor dials 999 when he spots a paddleboarder drifting out to sea in an offshore wind.
