The commander of the Parachute Regiment on Bloody Sunday, Lieutenant Colonel Derek Wilford, has died aged 90.
The commander of the Parachute Regiment on Bloody Sunday, Lieutenant Colonel Derek Wilford has died aged 90.
Journalist Peter Taylor, who was in Derry on Bloody Sunday and interviewed Derek Wilford a number of times, described the Lieutenant Colonel as a 'sad and tragic figure' who 'had success attached to his name until Bloody Sunday.'
