Dougie makes an early start to catch the stunning sight of barnacle geese lifting off the Solway Firth. He finds out why the birds migrate to the area from the Arctic each autumn and how their numbers are recovering after being hit by avian flu.

Cammy鈥檚 further inland at Gretna meeting the farming family who have decided to sell their famous herd of pedigree cattle. Arlene's at stables in the Pentlands near Edinburgh getting a riding lesson on a hardy horse breed. She discovers that Icelandic horses have a unique way of moving unlike any other equine.
