As this year draws to a close, Cerys reflects on her new music discoveries from 2023 and revisits live sessions from Rokia Kone, Ana Moura, Kimi Djabate, Eliades Ochoa and La Sonora Santanera.
It's an eclectic selection, featuring tracks from Cerys' Album Of The Year, Rare Birds: Hour of Song by The Bug Club, as well as music from Ags Connolly, Harold Lopez-Nussa and a trio of reels and jigs - it is new year after all!
Across the year, Cerys explored science, literature, history and much much more with the help of her guests, so we'll hear from Caspar Henderson, spoken word and slam poetry champion Emmeline, Daniel Lofredo Rota on leaf playing and the voice of zoologist and bioacoustics researcher Katy Payne explaining the structure of the humpback whale's song. Plus another chance to hear from qanun player Maya Youssef, bassist and producer Adi Oasis, Bonnie Prince Billy, Jen Cloher, Kate Stables of This Is the Kit and Cat Power.
