(PAT) is a charity that enhances the health and wellbeing of thousands of people in communities across the UK. Volunteers and their temperament-assessed pets offer a visiting service to care homes, hospitals, schools, prisons and more.聽
Meet Milo
Milo, a cute Havanese belonging to Josette Simon, is a much-loved visitor to a children鈥檚 hospice. The PAT Team also visit hospital stroke units, eating disorder units and dementia care and mental health facilities, bringing joy to everyone they meet.聽
The human-animal bond
From enabling someone lost in the fog of dementia to speak, to being there for a nurse who needs a moment of calm during a busy shift, PAT Teams can help. We know we can鈥檛 fix the world, but every day volunteers make a difference to people鈥檚 lives.聽
Enriching lives
Ordinary good-natured pets can become extraordinary therapy dogs and offer comfort and companionship to those who need it most. Over 2,600 establishments are waiting for a PAT visit, so we urgently need funds to find and recruit more volunteers.聽
