Finding Hidden Jewellery

A Venetian painting and a Glaswegian engineering marvel are found, then fixed in Surrey. Will the sale of a Great War soldier鈥檚 medals make enough cash to send a family on a dream holiday?

In Surrey, Alison wants to downsize a lifetime of clutter that has filled the family home and garage. She hopes that by selling heirlooms and treasures she will be able to take her two grown-up children on a holiday of a lifetime before they each go their separate ways - a trip that is thoroughly deserved after a turbulent few years for the family. Her 20-year-old daughter Leah was diagnosed with heart failure after a short illness, and she was unable to complete her university studies. Now recovered, she is determined to help her mum to cash in with a clear-out.

Auctioneer Christina Trevanion finds a set of very collectable Welsh porcelain in one cabinet, and hidden away in a cupboard, a box filled with jewellery that was inherited from relatives. She also uncovers an Italian painting that, with further research, could make a small fortune at auction.

Robin Johnson uses his years of restoration knowledge to repair a Victorian table and a stool that is a health and safety nightmare. A discovery of 150-year-old Glaswegian engineering gets Robin very excited as he sets about preparing it for sale.

However, some medals from the Great War are the most emotional find, in a box with letters home from the front line. Could they have been won by Alison鈥檚 long-forgotten relative? If so, with her dream holiday on the line, is Alison prepared to sell to a collector?
