Conservation dogs

Conservation dogs in Comber, a goat delivering eggs in Banbury and squirrels in Carnfunnock Park.

Presenter, Nicola Weir, speaks to County Armagh farmer George Carvill, who is selling off his sheep after a dog attack left 28 lambs dead. And while untrained dogs can prove devastating for the industry, a well-trained one can be invaluable to farmers and the environment – and Dr Caroline Finlay, conservation dog handler and owner of conservation detection dogs in Comber, explains how springer Jasper helps sniff out rare breeds in Northern Ireland. And Nicola finds out more about Alan the goat who is delivering eggs to his neighbours in Banbury in England before she heads to Carnfunnock Country Park, just outside Larne, to discover the secrets of the walled garden, squirrels and pine martins.
