Award-winning screenwriter Frank Cottrell-Boyce on his Catholic faith. Plus The Easter Play, and a new book on the relationship between science and religious thought.

Its Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. Tony is joined by Suzanne Lofthus, Director of the annual Easter Play, performed in Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh. They discuss this year’s open-air, immersive production as well as the play’s theme – the women who were part of Jesus’ life.

Author Nick Spencer discusses how science and religion are inextricably linked. Plus how challenges posed by scientific advancement could be answered by referring to philosophical and religious thought, something he explores in his new book Playing God: Science, Religion and the Future of Humanity.

Award-winning screenwriter and novelist Frank Cottrell-Boyce tells Tony about his new film The Beautiful Game which is inspired by the 2003 Ö÷²¥´óÐãless World Cup, and the stories of the players behind it. He also reflects on his career and the sustained influence his Catholic faith has had in all aspects of his life.

Tony is joined by Rabbi Pete Tobias, Rev Philip Blackledge and Trishna Singh, the director of the Scottish Sikh Family Support charity - Sikh Sanjog. They pour over some the week’s topical stories and share a religious and ethical perspective.

The panel discuss new controversial legislation - The Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act. It comes in to effect on April 1st and expands existing laws on race as well as strengthening sentences for offenders convicted of crimes deemed to be "aggravated by prejudice".

They reflect on the astonishing life of Holocaust survivor and refugee, Henry Wuga who sadly died shortly after his 100th birthday last week.

New film Christspiracy explores if there is ever a spiritual way to kill an animal. The panel ponder the complex questions raised by this, considering the relationship between animals and religion.

And with spring finally coming into bloom the guests share their thoughts on the various religious events that mark this time of year including Purim, Hola Mohalla and Palm Sunday.
