For the very best in traditional music, join Gary Innes for Take the Floor. We pay tribute to the one and only Ceilidh King, Fergie MacDonald, following his recent passing. We hear some of the highlights from his most recent sessions for Take the Floor recorded in September 2017 and December 2022 and share an interview that Gary recorded with the man himself at the Blas Festival in 2017, where Fergie shared his life story in front of a live audience. Gary also catches up with some of Fergie's closest colleagues and friends to hear about his legacy and the incredible impact he has had on Scottish dance and ceilidh music. Interviewees include John Carmichael, Phil Cunningham, Alan Henderson and Angus MacPhail.
