For the very best in traditional music, join Gary Innes for Take the Floor. This time we have a brand new band all lined up for you: The Nicola Braid and Gordon Haddow Quartet! Nicola and Gordon met attending Joe Burke's accordion school in Cardenden, but in their teenage years both stopped playing for nearly 25 years. They reconnected via social media years later, when Gordon was looking for someone to play with him at a family party, and have performed together ever since, first as a duo, and then forming their quartet as you will hear on this, their debut broadcast.
Gary's guest is the award-winning songwriter and member of the band Lau, Kris Drever. Kris joins Gary to chat about his childhood spent in Orkney, his many song writing inspirations, and his favourite moments of his career so far.
