Tim Booth, lead singer and co-founder of indie rock band James who gave us anthems like 鈥楽it Down鈥� and 鈥楽he鈥檚 A Star鈥� selects the songs that shaped his life, in this week's Tracks Of My Years.

James recently celebrated 40 years together but they began when Tim met the future bandmates in the student union cellar bar at Manchester University. They stormed the 1990s with four top ten hits and reunited in 2007 landing five top ten albums.

They鈥檒l be touring their latest album 鈥榊ummy鈥� in June, culminating at London鈥檚 02 which will be the first time the band have played the 20,000 capacity venue.

Away from the band Tim has written a novel called 鈥榃hen I Died For The First Time鈥� and has also worked as an actor in 鈥楤atman Begins鈥�.

His first choice today comes from John Lennon.
