Spain are vying to make European Championship history by becoming the first team to win six successive games without the aid of a penalty shoot-out. They have already beaten Croatia, Italy and Germany and are the joint top scorers at this tournament with 11 goals. In contrast, France’s attack – led by captain Kylian Mbappe – has yet to click, and they needed penalties to overcome Portugal in the quarter-finals.
