Keely Hodgkinson seeks to end her run of global 800m silver medals and become Great Britain鈥檚 first Olympic champion in the event for 20 years.

Hodgkinson announced herself on the world stage with Olympic silver three years ago but has been left frustrated by finishing in the same position at the two subsequent World Championships and the Commonwealth Games. She lost two of those finals to Kenya鈥檚 Mary Moraa, who is again expected to be her main rival tonight.

A stacked women鈥檚 5,000m final is likely to include Dutch sensation Sifan Hassan, who stormed to the first of her two Olympic golds in Tokyo in this event, along with world record holder Gudaf Tsegay.
