As a piper and pipe maker, Hamish Moore has had a vital influence on the Scottish piping scene for decades. He believes that, over time, piping has consistently been losing connection with its Gaelic roots. This connection was once central to, and at the heart of, how pipe music was interpreted and played.

In a bid to reconnect piping with its Gaelic roots, Hamish has devised a brand new piping competition on the Isle of Raasay with none of the conventional rules or standards of traditional contests. The Restitution Piping Competition will have its inaugural contest on 7th September and Hamish joins Anna live to chat about what's in store.
