Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra at the Proms plus highlights from the East Neuk Festival

Today鈥檚 Classical Live includes another chance to hear last Thursday night鈥檚 Prom. Sir Simon Rattle makes his first Proms appearance as the new Chief Conductor of one of Germany鈥檚 leading ensembles, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
After a highly anticipated new work written for the orchestra by long time Rattle collaborator Thomas Ade虁s and given as part of our Bruckner 200th-anniversary celebrations, his evocative Symphony No 4 - the "Romantic". Few scores convey Anton Bruckner鈥檚 distinctive combination of mystery and warmth.
