Wetherby 18

Students take on lecturers at an antiques fair in Wetherby, with experts Philip Serrell and Jonathan Pratt. Meanwhile, Caroline shows fair-goers a horsehair-stuffed mystery item.

Students take on lecturers in a battle of the brains! In red are friends Amy and Laura, who study history and maths – which they hope will be an ideal combination for bargain hunting! Their opponents in blue are Karen and Nick, who plan to ‘teach the reds a lesson’.

With pride at stake, both teams dash around an antiques fair in Wetherby in search of three profitable items to sell at auction. Guiding the reds is Philip Serrell, who reckons he’s as old as some of the items his team are looking at! Maths undergraduate Laura isn’t impressed with a calculating machine, and the team turn up their noses at a perfume atomiser.

Giving the blues an education in antiques is Jonathan Pratt. A rusty vintage biscuit tin gives them food for thought, but they decide a model of a Red Arrows jet won’t fly in the saleroom.

While the teams shop, presenter Caroline Hawley is on home turf in Yorkshire as she quizzes fair-goers about a horsehair-stuffed mystery item! Over in Ripon, will it be 'neigh' or 'yay' from the bidders when the teams’ items go under the hammer?
