One of the UK's most prolific children's writers Michael Morpurgo talks about his passion for storytelling. Why does he tackle subjects such as war, loss and injustice?

Michael Morpurgo is one of the UK's most prolific children's writers having written over a hundred books. He was the third Children's Laureate and has written some of the country's best known children's stories, among them his novel War Horse (1982), which went on to form the basis of an award-winning play and an acclaimed film by Steven Spielberg. His recent work includes 主播大秀coming (2013) where he revisits the "landscape of his memories", telling of his childhood in the idyllic village of Bradwell in England 50 years ago. He talks to Razia Iqbal about his passion for storytelling. Why does he tackle subjects such as war, loss and injustice?
