The film won the U.S. Documentary Editing Award, and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. The National Board of Review of Motion Pictures named it one of the top five documentaries of 2012 and it was placed on the shortlist for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in the 85th Academy Awards.
