Rivers and canals are choked with discarded bags and bottles, and scientists rank Indonesia as second after China for the deluge of plastic it allows to pollute the oceans. Amid scenes which might lead many to despair, we meet a handful of recycling pioneers who are trying to turn the plastic tide.
