Telecommunications have helped following the earthquakes in Chile and Haiti. But as communications begin to return to normal in Haiti an argument has erupted over NGOs paying to use local internet service providers.

Google finds itself in the dock as competitors take their complaints to the European Commission.

There's news of how volunteers logging onto a new site called Solar Stormwatch could act as part of an early warning system if ever earth was attacked by bursts of radiation from the sun.

Microsoft's Jeremy Gittins joins Digital Planet to unveil Windows MultiPoint Server, a system that allows one computer to work with several mice.
