Martin Hughes-Games visits the Forest of Dean in search of the UK's holiday wildlife. Half of the British population spends at least one day's holiday a year in the woods, they're a national treasure and one of the most diverse habitats we have. Around 40% of the world's population of bluebells are found in the UK. Martin meets forest ranger Simon Holloway to track down wild boar which can now be found in over 20 counties. Martin looks at a mud wallow left by a boar, marks where one particularly large individual has rubbed against a tree, and tufts of hair stuck in the bark. The hairs are boars as they don't snap when bent, unlike similar deer hairs. In addition, there are many species of attractive and even rare birds in British woodlands.
