Nesting in a hide is not an unusual thing for birds, unless that nest belongs to treecreepers as here. Bill Oddie has never seen inside a tree creepers nest in 60 years of birdwatching. Usually these birds choose a nest behind the bark of a tree, fairly high up to avoid potential predation. Though not that rare, their camouflage is brilliant against the bark of trees and nests are usually high up. But as this family has set up home so close to the Springwatch team, they have set up a camera to get a look inside. The youngsters are close to fledging and when the first few make it out successfully, the cameras follow them until all six baby treecreepers are huddled together clinging to the bark of the tree in classic treecreeper style. The parents come to feed them in the huddle.
