Kirsty Wark talks to American novelist Jonathan Franzen about his new novel Freedom, an epic story of contemporary love and marriage. Franzen's last book The Corrections won America's National Book Award in 2001 and has since sold almost 3 million copies. After the nine year wait, expectations were running high for Franzen's new book which has already been selected for Oprah Winfrey's hugely influential book club.
