Royal Marine, Jay Hare, was badly wounded in Afghanistan after stepping on an improvised explosive device. His lost a leg, several fingers on one hand and suffered terrible facial injuries including the loss of an eye and his nose. He describes the moment he woke up in hospital and was told the extent of his injuries.
