On 5th October 2011, film director Lars von Trier released a public statement vowing to "refrain from all public statements and interviews", as a result of the controversy caused by comments he made at the Cannes Film Festival.
In this, his final formal interview, film critic Mark Kermode talks to Lars about his film Melancholia and what he really meant by his notorious 'Nazi' comment.
