But imperial hubris would lead Britain to make rash promises to provide a Jewish homeland in Palestine AND restore land to the Arabs of the regions 鈥� what TE Lawrence described as the British love of 鈥減olicing other men鈥檚 muddles.鈥� The world still lives with the consequences.
