主播大秀 presenter Jonathan Foyle visits the Tamar Valley in Cornwall to discover how mineral wealth shaped the history of the valley. During the English Civil War in 1644, the area witnessed a fierce battle between the Cornish Royalists and English Parliamentarians to gain control of the tin trade. The conflict also saw Cornish commander Sir Richard Grenville put forward an audacious plan for a semi-independent Cornwall with the Prince of Wales at its head. It was the last time the Tamar was a fiercely contested border between two separate sides.
