Stefan Gates finds out what soup in a cup makers really use to put the tomato flavour in powdered soup. First he needs to build a spray dryer to drive off all the water from his tomatoes because yes, there are real tomatoes inside instant soup in a cup.

To do this he needs to get the temperature inside the dryer just right. Too hot and the soup will taste burnt, not enough heat and he'll be left with a soggy red paste. His first attempt is disappointing but when more paint stripper guns are added, Stefan is rewarded with a dusting of red tomato powder.
