Michael Palin's latest novel The Truth is only his second in seventeen years. At its heart is the mysterious environmental activist Hamish Melville, forever travelling the globe in support of the poor and vulnerable. The commission to write his biography falls in the lap of a disgruntled writer and journalist, Keith Mabbut. Tim Marlow interviewed Michael Palin at his office in London.
