Pink River Dolphins: Shapeshifters of the Rio Negro
The waters of the Rio Negro are home to two types of dolphins - the shy grey, and the more plentiful pink, with whom Michael had a close encounter, thanks to his guide Gabriel. Local myths have developed around the pink dolphins - including the legend that they can take human form.
