Kenneth MacAlpine, King of Pictland
According to myth, Kenneth MacAlpine drove away the Vikings to become the first King of Scotland. However, Scotland at that time was not a single nation. Records only started referring to 'Kings of Scotland' 40 years after MacAlpine's death.
