A young boy performs 'Alligator' by Grace Nichols to win a poetry recital competition

Kammal, a seven-year-old boy from London recites the Spike Milligan poem, 'On the Ning-Nang-Nong', and reaches the final stages of a poetry competition. Kammal is shown at home with his brothers and sisters, and his mum describes how he learns the poems, and makes her laugh when he recites them. We then see him at the recital competition at a local library, with a team of judges led by Children's Laureate Michael Rosen, (one of whose best known poems is 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'). He performs 'Alligator' by Grace Nichols and impresses the judges so much that he wins the competition.
