Why did basketball鈥檚 Jason Collins wear the number 98 shirt? It was in part to honour the memory of Matthew Shepherd after he was beaten to death just for being gay in 1998. We hear from Matthew鈥檚 father Dennis after Collins revealed the reason behind his shirt number as he became the first openly gay professional sportsman in the one of the big 4 US sports.

Picture it鈥 Swedish top flight game between the Stockholm based team IF Brommapojkarna away at Mjallby. The IF players run out on to the pitch glancing to the left and the stand which holds their hardy support, only to be greeted by the sight of just one solitary fan of the team!
