As part of the Year of Natural Scotland, Nick visits the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Inspired by the SNH Big 5 wildlife list, RBGE has launched the search for Scotland鈥檚 five favourite native plants and trees. They are asking the public to vote for their favourite native species to reveal the nation鈥檚 most popular plants and trees. RBGE has compiled a list of thirteen species to choose from. They are the Silver Birch; Wych Elm; Dog rose; Scottish Primrose; Spear Thistle; Water lily; Scots Pine; Scottish Bluebell; Rowan; Poppy; Heather (or ling); Hazel; Gorse.
