A state of emergency has been declared in Egypt

A month-long state of emergency has been declared in Egypt after a day of violence. A night-time curfew has also been imposed across a large swathe of the country. Banks and the stock exchange have been ordered to close. Shops, factories and other businesses are closing too. We get the latest from Cairo.
