Greece: The Optimistic Case

Could Greece's economy be seeing green shoots of recovery after six years of recession? Ed Butler visits Athens to hear the optimists' case.

After more than half a decade of recession, could Greece's economy finally be on the mend? Ed Butler visits Athens to look at the optimists' case. He hears from Paul Kazarian, head of US investment firm Japonica, who claims that the old stereotypes of Greece as a basket case are out of date.

And, although Greece is likely to need a third bailout, one minister explains how the government's finances have never looked better. The streets of Athens are busier, tourism is picking up, and - as Ed sees for himself - some businesses are thriving thanks to the abundance of cheap, educated workers in desperate need of work.
