Dementia has been described as a 鈥済lobal disaster waiting to happen鈥� and looking after sufferers currently costs economies more than $600 billion a year. The number of people with the condition is expected to rise from 44 million today to 135 million by 2050. But at a summit in London, UK Prime Minster David Cameron, has promised double funding for dementia research in an attempt to find a cure.
