Beth Warren: The fight to save my dead husband's sperm

Beth Warren describes her legal battle to save her late husband's sperm, after challenging a storage time limit set by the UK fertility regulator.

Warren Brewer died aged 32 from a brain tumour two years ago. His widow has has been told his sperm cannot be stored beyond April 2015.

Mr Brewer had his sperm frozen and signed forms saying his wife could use it if he died before he had radiotherapy treatment for cancer.

Sperm and eggs can be stored for decades, but the regulations state individuals must update their consent every few years.
