Clare's father Michael Brown believes that Clare would still be alive today, if she had known about George Appleton's past. Michael campaigned for Clare's law, also known as the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme, to allow someone to ask the police about a partner's previous history of domestic violence or violent acts.
