Cheshire: The Safe House

A century after the start of World War One, Louise Minchin reveals the story of Dunham Massey stately home in Cheshire, which was turned into a military hospital for injured Tommies.

This magnificent house in the heart of Cheshire became a sanctuary from the trenches for 282 soldiers who had been injured or shell-shocked.
