A future Labour government would put greater emphasis on the arts and creative subjects in schools - so said the Labour leader earlier this week.

Ed Miliband was speaking following the publication of a major report which warned that creative subjects were at risk of being squeezed out of school curriculums.

The Warwick Commission found that the number of pupils choosing creative and craft subjects at GCSE had fallen by as much as half. One man who is concerned by the current government's approach is the artist Bob and Roberta Smith.
