In 1930 Amy Johnson flew in a small bi-plane from England to Australia. She was the first woman pilot, or in the language of the time, "aviatrix", to fly solo from England to Australia. Amy sadly died in January in 1941 - while flying an Airspeed Oxford for the ATA from Blackpool to RAF Kidlington... Reportedly out of fuel, she bailed out as her aircraft crashed into the Thames Estuary.

One Oxfordshire lady is going to recreate Amy's famous journey from here to the otherside of the world. Amanda Harrison came in to tell Howard Bentham - but first lets hear a song written about Amy - and a word from the great lady herself.
