How a play 'The Romans in Britain' caused a scandal in London's National Theatre in 1982. Michael Bogdanov was its director and he found himself in court over 'sex' on stage.

In 1982 a British director found himself in a court battle over sex and nudity on stage. Michael Bogdanov had directed 'The Romans in Britain' which drew parallels with the contemporary presence of British troops in Northern Ireland. But a public decency campaigner, Mary Whitehouse, thought it was obscene.
