Charlie, 11, introduces his himself and his Jewish life. What matters to him? Food, sport, football, tennis, cycling, family, being Jewish – and shoes! The opening clip in this 30 minute programme shows Charlie’s rather interesting range of answers to the ‘what matters to you?’ question, and introduces him. RE explores links between different identities: the viewer is invited to compare their own sense of identity with Charlie’s and to note that his home has a clear sign of Jewish faith on lots of doorposts: a mezuzah, which has a message to the people of Israel written inside.
