Mod on riots: 'My old man caught me up a lamp post'
In May 1964 rival gangs rioted along the south coast and particularly Brighton which was famously dramatised in the film Quadrophenia. Adrian Tincknell went along to watch the scuffles and says he was warned by his father, who was a police officer, not to be get involved. He climbed a lamp post to get a better view of what was happening and was caught by by his father.
